I have never had an employer work with me like that before. It would be great to tell them thank you, but I don%26#039;t want to seem like a butt kisser.

*side info.... My grandmother passed away and I had to arrange a leave of absense ( my super helped fill them out, pretty much all I had to do was sign), plus take time off of work in the middle of shift when I got %26quot;the phone call%26quot;. My manager, my supervisor and their boss were so sweet, and it just made me feel good knowing I worked for a company that would just really bend over backwards for me. Heck, my super told me to take as much time as I needed, and my manager would call and check up on me just to make sure I was ok.

I want to send a thank you card, or even some flowers for their kindness.

Your ideas? It%26#039;s so good to hear something like this, instead of the usual stuff about how nasty the boss has been at a time of personal crisis.

As to how to say thanks ~ nothing beats a personal face to face %26#039;thank you%26#039;. Just telling them face to face, with sincerity and openness, how much it meant to you and how special you think their behaviour was can make a person%26#039;s day, month ~ even year!

To honour them publicly, you could definitely send a big bunch of flowers, maybe some chocs and a card ... if you send it to the office, naming them and then adding %26quot;and the whole team%26quot;, you are letting everyone know you appreciate them, but also that your bosses were extra good.

That way, it is no way %26#039;butt kissing%26#039;, it is simply a heartfelt gesture of thanks.

It must have been sad losing your dear grandmother, I can only imagine the devastation as I love my grandma so much, but having a great workplace team can really help you feel better and give you a much needed boost. Having that sort of support really matters.

I WAS going to say you can also let them know how great you found them by being a terrific employee, but judging by their actions and your attitude, I bet you already are!

Cheers :-)

Edited to say: Traveller has a good point about company policy ~ you might need to check that out! Best wishes :-)
Reply:I usually am cautious about gifts to employers, etc. Even a letter to the company thanking them, could be a problem if in helping you, they %26quot;bypassed%26quot; some company policy. Perhaps just a heartfelt %26quot;thank you %26quot; in private is best.

If you really must do more than that, then I%26#039;d say a dinner certificate for two to some local, and reasonably priced restaurant if you can afford that. They look sooooo good but do they taste good and are they really as fresh as they look...it%26#039;s hard to tell from the on-line pictures...sometimes they just make them look nicer in the ads! Your ceremony %26amp; reception SITE w/ security deposit will be $3500.00 . Even if you get a caterer for $35. a head-that%26#039;s $7000.00 right there. That%26#039;s not including cocktail hour, COCKTAILS, bartenders, music, linens for the tables, othere decorations, etc. If you have your heart set on lilies %26amp; orchids-you will have to scrimp somewhere else. Some ideas...make your own invites, have a buffet instead of sit down dinner, or better yet just hor d%26#039;oeurves, since most people get full on them b/4 dinner anyway..DJ instead of band, ask a friend to videotape for you..Fridays or afternnons are usually cheaper too. Put ALOT of greens in with those orchids!! Good luck.
Reply:You may want to call local flower shops and find out how much the flowers will be OR hire a wedding planner who can budget everything for you . You can also toss the bad blooms and consolidate the good ones into fewer vases. Make sure you save the cards and see that the family gets them so they can send a %26quot;thank-you.%26quot; If the family hasn%26#039;t seen them, I%26#039;d put a brief description of the arrangement on the back of the card so, when they respond, they can refer to a particular flower, i.e. %26quot;and the Gerber daisies were beautiful.%26quot;
Reply:cut flowers should be got rid of when they look dead or start to look that way . live plants should be cared for as best as possible and if its not possible for them to make it in the building then send them to the wife / husband or give them to someone you know was friends with the boss

after you remove the cut flowers some of the cards could arranged in a nice way and kept in place for a longer time say one month or 3 weeks after a new boss comes in .
Reply:leave them for two weeks unless the flowers die or start to smell bad. usually one or 2 weeks u should keep them but keep a Pic of him or her.Or ask your co workers .
Reply:A week and a half to two weeks.
Reply:i%26#039;d say a week
Reply:When they turn ratty looking--ditch them.
Reply:Until they die.
Reply:You can keep them until they are fresh...and yes you can also donate good Ono%26#039;s to the old people houses or hospitals. It seems such a shame to throw them when they are still good.
Reply:Offer them to the family %26amp; if they refuse or suggest you keep or dispose of the flowers/plants, then leave them out. I kept 2 of the floral arrangements from my grandma%26#039;s funeral until they dried up, about a month. I also have the fern that a distant relative sent in a big pot on my side porch. My fiance does not care about any details until the credit card comes. lol I started my wedding planning on weddingwire.com. There everything is organized and the guest list is easy to use. Most grooms are responsible for the guys tuxes and alcohol (if there is any). Flowers can be a tough one. You might want to trade something else for that job. Or try going to your local florist. They should have pictures of bouquets and arrangements that you can decide on. Depending on where you live and where she is getting her dress, most bridal shops offer discounts on the tuxes if a bridal gown is purchased within that company. Better to go there together for the tuxes or wait for her to tell you where to go. As for most decorations it is easier to work together so that you can compromise on one set item. Start watching whose wedding is it anyway or rich bride poor bride on the style network. They give you so many helpful hints.!
Reply:Everyone is different. When I got married my husband just came along for the ride. I pretty much did all of the planning because I wanted to. Some women aren%26#039;t like that though, if I were you I would talk to your fiance and ask her what exactly she would like for you to do to bring your day together. I%26#039;m sure she will be happy to know that your excited about it as well. As far as where to start...just take it one thing at a time. Start with tuxedos and once you get that taken care of move onto flowers and so on. I would make a checklist and just go down the line so it doesn%26#039;t get overwhelming. Good Luck and Congrats!!!!
Reply:tuxs get measurements for whoever needs them

matching,or else thatll look bad if not

and flowers go with the theme

and last but not least ask your fiance for her opinion because its her wedding as well

and congrats
Reply:**Random Thought: A really sweet first gesture would be to take her to a book store and get her a wedding planning book. That would make my heart melt.

I think it depends on the couple. My fiance is involved in EVERYTHING, somewhat even more than I am. We sat down and talked about what we expected from one another, I suggest that you two do that. Make a list of some basic important stuff to look into (food, music, decorations, photographer, videographer, cake, church) and perhaps you could take on one or two of those as your projects. Also ask if there is anything you could do to perhaps help her without it being too bad. I HATE talking on the phone so my fiance makes all the phone calls to set up appointments. It may not seem like a lot, but it%26#039;s huge to me. I am not that great at budget/excel stuff so he made up a budget using various sites like theknot and wedding channel.

Note from my Fiance: He says the hardest part is keeping me calm so just re-assure your fiance a lot, do little things to let her know you appreciate the work she is doing and be available.

Good luck!!!!
Reply:Here%26#039;s some ideas:

-Write a toast for the reception

-write vows if appliccable

-Don%26#039;t forget to write a little note or card for your wife to be to read before the ceremony (mabey a little gift too)

-Thank you gifts for the groomsmen

-Wedding transport if needed

-Be there to choose the wedding bands

-Honeymoon arrangements: Try and help with all the technical stuff like transportation and stuff

-Buy your wife to be some nice lingirie for the honeymoon, Surprise her with something sexy but tastefull.

Other than that be there for moral support, ask her what she needs help with and try to put some ideas on the table. And dress real nice not showing to much, but be proud of what you have show his mother that you have confidence in everything you do and say. %26quot;GOOD LUCK%26quot; Actually if you remember tell me how it went later on down the road.
Reply:just b your self and if she don%26#039;t like you for ho you o well
Reply:Don%26#039;t worry just be yourself.A small flower arrangement sounds just right. She will be able to enjoy the flowers longer if they are artificial.Candy is always a big hit with younger brothers and sisters.
Reply:its not how much money you spend that should count but why and where . if its truly coming from the heart that%26#039;s all that matters and being your self no matter what . and if your really worried and the flowers you got for her just tell her that you wanted them to last for ever for her . or something like that . best of luck to you .
Reply:Just go and be yourself. Don%26#039;t go bearing gifts, they will get the impression you are trying to but their respect etc. I don%26#039;t see trying to impress them will get you as far as being yourself.
Reply:You know what.........doing all those cute little things is just that........cute.....just be yourself, if they like you then great, but no amount of sucking up will make them like you anymore or any less. I met mine after a year of us being together and by being myself they love me, I didn%26#039;t do anything special for them, just talked to them. Very nice people by the way. Impression are a lasting thing, but being yourself will work wonders!!!!!!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!! :)
Reply:I don%26#039;t see what would be wrong with that. You can buy very pretty flowers real cheap now. The arrangement will also look beautiful long after dinner that day. The treat bags are a good idea also. The most important thing is to be yourself. Don%26#039;t try too hard to impress. I am sure his family will love you.
Reply:I am sure that they will love you.You sound like a very nice person.Just remember to be yourself and stay relaxed. You will do just fine.Just know in your heart that you both love each other and make each other happy and that%26#039;s all that matters.Good luck, and try to have fun to.visual artsBarneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14273349797819435615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7570087278847862917.post-75750240370711296532009-04-13T05:18:00.003-07:002009-04-13T05:18:56.419-07:00Who delievers edibles fruit arrangements to macon,ga 31206?i%26#039;m looking for something the looks like flowers
Who delievers edibles fruit arrangements to macon,ga 31206?

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy Flowershttps://store.fruitflowers.com/cgi-bin/w...makeup tipsBarneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14273349797819435615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7570087278847862917.post-6764272473923269122009-04-13T05:18:00.002-07:002009-04-13T05:18:40.618-07:00Channel U 11pm news?I saw that there is a class for flowers arrangement, fee charge approximately 4k-6k, a one year course. I have gone to Los Angeles (the flower district) and have found a place called %26quot;Daisy%26#039;s Garden%26quot; This place doesn%26#039;t have a website and they speak Spanish (some English, but not very well)....I went with my friend and the florist showed me beautiful flowers and arrangements for much less than what I would pay at a typical...non-wholesale florist....i was wondering if anyone has been to %26quot;Daisy%26#039;s Garden%26quot; before...or any florist in the LA flower district...and, if so, what was your experience with them? (please only tell me if you have used them for a large event...not just for a bouquet or something)

my second question is....do you think i should trust the great deal in LA...or pay more for peace of mind??? It was very tastefully done according to the hospital%26#039;s wishes.

After the initial service the funeral directors brought out a large flower arrangement that was shaped like a giant heart. I would love some honest opinions on this. My wedding is May 23, 2008, and it%26#039;s going to be outdoors. Here are the dresses I%26#039;m going to use (the halter one) , and here is a bouquet that I really like. Let me know what you think, please!

http://www.sears.ca/gp/product/B00130BGI...

http://www.flower-arrangement-advisor.co...
Pale Pink and White w/ Grassy Green accents???

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersFor a May wedding?

FANTASTIC!

So pretty and spring-y! And everyone looks good in pink (it complements all skin tones). I like the halter-style too. Easy to dance in. You can have the flower girls (if you%26#039;re having any) in the green as a contrast to the BMs.

I think it%26#039;ll all turn out just lovely.

Congrats!
Reply:I really like those! And that color choice is beautiful(very spring ilke!)

Congrats!
Reply:well first off I LOVE that dress

and I think your color scheme would be great, pink like from the dress with like sage accents maybe?

I dunno its ur wedding
Reply:I love the dress and I love the flowers, but what I would do is either use a lighter coloured pink flower or have then throw in some flowers that are lighter pink. its just that ring now there is nothing in the bouquet that matches the dress. its such a pale pink and the flowers are a deeper pink. I would try to coordinate them a bit more.
Reply:So martha stewart looking...............I love it. It%26#039;s so appropiate for may and will look so warm and soft.
Reply:Congrats! And it is coming up fast!!! I think it will be beautiful. You better get a move on and make up your mind.
Reply:I like the pink and green. I would even think that having the dresses green would be cute!
Reply:Looks beautiful to me ... just make sure your girls get a bit of a tan, since pale pink can wash out a pale girl. I also like the idea of having the pink in the flowers be a bit darker than the pink in the dresses, as in the pictures.
Reply:I think your choices are beautiful and perfect for a May wedding.computerBarneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14273349797819435615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7570087278847862917.post-47955356090789504282009-04-13T05:17:00.001-07:002009-04-13T05:17:20.613-07:00Home/Personal Chef?Like to start this business, cook at client%26#039;s home, including flower arrangement, shopping, cleaning. The price would have to range according to season, due to what fresh food and flowers will be available. Have some sample menus available as well to show what style of cooking you do and what limitations on shopping and cleaning you may have (you%26#039;ll be suprised what kind of requests you%26#039;ll get if you don%26#039;t set limits).

You might want to do more research by acting as a client and inquiring with others in your field and see what your competition is charging and then charge about $2.00 to $5.00 less than anyone in your area. Her mother just died?My friend%26#039;s mother just died...we have been working together a few years and she is basically like a mother to me. Me and my girlfriend are friends with her family but we never knew her mother. I was going to get them a Vermont Teddy Bear with a card saying %26quot;We are sorry for the loss of your loved one, keep this in her memory%26quot; Does that seem a bit over the top or no? For some reason it seems like a strange sympathy gift to me...but I didn%26#039;t want to go with a generic fruit basket or flower arrangement...I wanted it to be something they could keep and remember. For me it just almost seems droll to give someone a gift that is like %26#039;here is something to remind you that someone died%26#039;

Am I thinking too deeply about this? Any thoughts?
Is this a good sympathy gift for my friend? I think you could even write %26quot;You have been like a mother to me%26quot; in your note and it would mean a lot. There should be no such thing as a sympathy gift-I agree it is just a reminder.

People gave my husband teddy bears when he had cancer and we were dumbfounded, although we appreciated the thought. Teddy bears for a 40 year old man? Reminders of his illness? No thanks!
Reply:You do not give gifts when people pass away. Often times, family will bring over some meals so the grieving does not need to worry about cooking. As for a friend, a simple card expressing your sympathy and prayers is enough.
Reply:I recently lost a close friend, and although gifts were thoughtful and appreciated, the thing that kept me going was the people that offered their support and prayers.
Reply:I don%26#039;t think it is too over the top, but I think it is a bit odd to give a teddy bear or any gift for sympathy. I think many prefer people to give to a charity...is there something the mom or the family supports?.....How did she die? If it was due to an illness there may be charities that do research in that field and THAT would be the most appropriate charitable donation to make. If there are young children, maybe you could start a college fund for them. What is MOST important during this time and in the near future is to let the family know that you will be there for them and mean it. They may be getting bombarded with visitors and gifts right now, but maybe it would be nice in a couple weeks to bring them a home made meal. Actions go a lot further than any gift, so just pay attention to what your friend needs or wants and be there.
Reply:great idea maybe get a PLANT not flowers as well!
Reply:You could get a donation to a charity in her mother%26#039;s name. I know when my Grandad died we got certificates of donations given to the Irish Cancer foundation and that meant a lot to my nana.
Reply:I think its the thought that counts here, Another idea would be making a donation in this person%26#039;s name to a charity. Sorry for your loss.
Reply:that is a lovely thought go for it and bless you for being so thoughtful
Reply:What I would do is purchase a very special %26quot;Hallmark%26quot; condolence card, together with flowers, a plant, or a real nice box of chocolates. Even a home made cake, your girlfriend can bake.

Hallmark has so many cards, you will really be able to find one that exactly conveys your feelings. As a personal touch I would call your friend and ask her if you, and your girlfriend may come and make a condolence visit. Bring the flowers, and card with you.

When people are in mourning they need other people around to talk their feelings out. She will most probably enjoy talking about the good times, and wonderful memories she has of her mother. However, I would wait for 4 to 5 days before you do it.
Reply:Why a gift. Your support and sympathy for their situation should be more than enough.

A teddy bear? There is something that will end up in a garage sale or stuffed in an attic somewhere. Just be there for them. It says more than anything.
Reply:I%26#039;m not so sure about that...what about just offering your support %26amp; letting them know you%26#039;ll be glad to do anything for them that they may need during this time...such as cooking a meal for them, running any errands, etc. If she keeps mementos they will probably be personal ones that she already has or that her mother owned...a nice card would suffice...since you didn%26#039;t know her mother I wouldn%26#039;t get anything too personal
Reply:I think it%26#039;s a great idea. i have to agree with the boring fruits and flowers. i hope she likes the gift!
Reply:As some have already stated the idea is great but the teddy bear is a little strange and defintily something that will end up in yard sale down the road.

However, if you check someplace such as:

www.collectionsetc.com

You will find some really nice sympathy gifts such as angels with a special message and some garden stones. Personally I would rather have something like that then a teddy bear.affiliate reviewsBarneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14273349797819435615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7570087278847862917.post-6040288093679645882009-04-13T05:16:00.003-07:002009-04-13T05:16:49.115-07:00Name one business that can b pursued all here round in a tourist destination like goa -india..?businesses like small restaurants, cafe, etc etc works only in the tourist months but once it starts raining out there all the restaurants close down n its more like a ghost town ...what abt a wedding planner???will it work in goa ??i havea planb to have everything done that is right from the wedding venue untill the catering n flower arrangement etc etc ...is it a good idea to invest in a business at such a place??will it b successful??i will b working along with my fiance who is working in a hospitality industry ..
Name one business that can b pursued all here round in a tourist destination like goa -india..?

FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy Flowersyou expect people from all over to come to Goa to get married. that wont happen for sometime. They have their own holidays.

They like helping the poor. You could give to a charity in their name. I suggest World Vision because they help feed orphans. Orphans are important to Muslims because Mohamed was one.
Reply:If your friend is an American muslim, then yes, send flowers for thanksgiving as it is an American celebration. Muslims do not celebrate Halloween, they have their own festivals. Most people in the Middle East, whether they are Muslims or not, just like a good celebration. In the past, it was always the custom for people of different faiths to celebrate with each other. So, if you say, were a Muslim and had Christian and Jewish neighbours (in say Damascus, Baghdad or any other city) , then you would visit the Christian neighbours for a celebration at Christmas and Easter, you would all visit the Jewish neighbour at Rosh Hashanah, and they would all visit you for the Pilgrimage Eid (festival) and the Fasting Eid (festival) which are two of the Islamic Festivals. It is Ramadhan now and on around the 13 October it will be Eid and you could send a card to your Muslim friend.

I live in Kuwait and people still celebrate different faith religions with their friends. Kuwait may sound a very conservative country but you should see all the shops decked out for christmas, halloween AND St Valentine%26#039;s day.
Reply:If someone%26#039;s religion is so confusing, foreign, and hyper-sensitive, just err on the side of sanity and find better friends.

That%26#039;s my advice, and you%26#039;ll never get better advice.
Reply:Many Muslims celebrate the national/cultural holidays of the countries where they live. Contrary to popular misbelief, Muslims do, indeed celebrate Christmas. Jesus is understood to be a very important prophet, He is called Messiah, and He is believed to have been born of the Virgin Mary without sin.www.poetry.comBarneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14273349797819435615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7570087278847862917.post-13079682939774528002009-04-13T05:16:00.001-07:002009-04-13T05:16:17.012-07:00What is the difference between atheists and Christians? There is none. Every time one of us has a question about life, you don%26#039;t have to paste and clip a section of the bible. You can actually use your own words, right? We have to live a life of love to all people, and not be swayed by our own opinions. What we think is not important, only what God says. Please except my apology for other peoples actions and attitude. All I cant tell you is what I personally know. God was there when I needed him, He has taken care of all my needs(not wants). and I thank Him for all that He has done for and my family.
Reply:sorry to interrupt your little rant, but what is the question?

and no, the top isnt a question as you%26#039;re using it rhetorically, answering it for us.
Reply:Oooo, get her.
Reply:Atheist=leave people alone, christians=leave no one alone, judgemental
Reply:....and to the left we have %26quot;The Virgin of the Rocks%26quot;, This is a painting ascribed to Leonardo da Vinci, probably before 1508. Assistants, perhaps the de Predis brothers, probably painted some parts of the work. It was painted for the chapel of the Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception, in the church of San Francesco Grande in Milan. It was sold by the church, very likely in 1781, and certainly by 1785, when it was bought by Gavin Hamilton, who took it to England. After passing through various collections, it was bought by the National Gallery in 1880....
Reply:Yes, there is a differnece. The atheist believes that there is no God, that there is no Hell, and that the world happened by chance, much like the evolutionist.

The Christian believes that there is one God who created everything and sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins, so that we could go to heaven when we die.

The Christian believes in both a heaven and a hell and that the only way to go to heaven in by confessign your sins to God, accepting God%26#039;s free gift of eternal life, believing that when Jesus died on the cross for our sins he paid the price in full, was buried, and rose again on the third day, thus conquering death and providing a way to get to heaven.

Don%26#039;t take this the wrong way but, you should stop playing the role of the victim and really think about this.
Reply:Are you feeling sorry for yourself?

Strong?

Independent?

It sounds more to me like you are a single, working mom who%26#039;s mad at the whole world for some guy leaving her.

And...if you throw up on your son, you%26#039;re gonna have to clean it up. I wouldn%26#039;t suggest that. It would only make more work for and and give you something else to complain about and blame on other people in R%26amp;S.

Lighten up!!!
Reply:Yeah? and your question would be....what? Why are you not on Valium? Calm down.

The difference between the two is one believes in God and the other doesn%26#039;t. Christian%26#039;s God told us to %26quot;spread the Word%26quot; and, well, atheists, um...do what they do.hairstyles hair styleBarneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14273349797819435615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7570087278847862917.post-67770035776793469022009-04-13T05:16:00.000-07:002009-04-13T05:16:00.508-07:00What you like this? (Birthday Celebration Possibility)?A good friend has a birthday coming up. He really needs to rest, so I was thinking of sending him to the Marriott for a night and inside of the room I was going to get a nice flower arrangement and plan a treasure hunt for him to find the other gifts and make reservations for him to have breakfast the next morning. I was thinking about a nice engraved pen, a new name plate for his desk, an engraved bible, personalized towels and a book as the gifts to hide. What do you think? If you were a man would you enjoy this?
What you like this?
